Dr Elisabeth Carter: “Fraudsters are great at pretending to be us. It's easy to think they're calling from your bank as they'll sound professional and seem like they want to help you.”
Scam call tip: We’ll never call you to tell you to move money to another account.
Scam emails
Dr Elisabeth Carter: “This looks like an email from a real company you already have an account with.
Dr Elisabeth Carter: “But if you click and reset your account password, it could result in you sharing important personal details with the wrong people.
Email scam tip: Check an email address matches the sender’s name and that it greets you by name..
Dr Elisabeth Carter: “There is no shame in being a victim of fraud. Nearly a million people become a victim of fraud each year.”
