We’re donating to the relief effort to support Ukrainian families, and we will help refugees here in the UK to open bank accounts and access the services they need.

You can donate online to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) or in one of our branches.

Other ways we are supporting

We offer a wide range of bank accounts and services to help those moving to the UK

If you would like to bank with us and need support on how to apply, please see our new to the UK page for more information.

We’re refunding our fee on payments to Ukraine

If you need to send a payment from a Lloyds Bank current account to Ukraine, you won’t currently pay our £9.50 fee. We’re refunding our fee for any payments made to Ukraine on and since 21 February 2022 and this will be done automatically within a few days.

You won’t pay a credit card fee to send money to charities abroad

For now, non sterling transaction fees won’t be charged on Lloyds Bank credit card payments, made to non-UK based charities on and since 24 February 2022.

Mortgage support for Homes for Ukraine government scheme

If you're planning to support the government scheme to house Ukrainian refugees, we're supporting you by making the process as simple as possible.

You won't need to notify us if you're providing:

  • a room(s) in your own home (current limit of 2 lodgers will not apply)
  • a residential property you own (there’s no need to request consent to lease but you'll need to obtain a tenancy agreement)
  • your Buy To Let property (normal mortgage and letting conditions apply, and you need to obtain a tenancy agreement).

It's important you consider whether by providing this support you are still able to afford your household bills, pay your mortgage and it doesn’t put you in financial difficulty. You may wish to look at any government guidance issued.

Home Insurance support for Homes for Ukraine government scheme

If you’re welcoming Ukrainian refugees into your home as part of the UK’s ‘Homes for Ukraine’ scheme and have Lloyds Bank Home Insurance cover, you do not need to tell us about your change in circumstances. You’ll continue to be covered by your existing policy.
