Manage access to Online for Business

How to choose the level of access for each user

With Online for Business you can choose who has access to your accounts and what level of access they have. This lets you easily add business partners and employees with peace of mind.

When you register for Online for Business we’ll ask if you’re  an account signatory for the business – this will determine the access level you apply for. An account signatory is someone who can make decisions and sign for things on behalf of the business.

Levels of user access

Full Access User

We’ll set you up as a Full Access User if you’re a Full Power Signatory. This lets you:

  • apply for products such as loans and overdrafts
  • set up new account users and payment controls
  • make changes to the account, like updating the business address or phone number
  • request and authorise non-payment service tasks online.

For a full list of actions, check out What You Can Do Online

Delegate User

This lets you do everyday tasks like making payments, talking to us about your business, and performing similar actions to a Full Access User. There are some features you can’t use, such as setting up online payment control, making a bulk payment limit request or requesting and authorising non-payment service tasks online.

Also, you can’t apply for financial products like loans or overdrafts.

View-Only User

Users can log on to Online for Business to check account balances, recent transactions and download previous statements, but they can’t carry out any actions. This level of access is ideal for admin or accounting.

Changing user access levels

You can manage the user access levels on your account using our Make a change form. Bear in mind, we'll need approval for any changes you make from the signatories on your mandate. Below are some of the changes you can make:

  • Amend access – select the right level of access for each user. You can also add or remove online access to specific accounts and cards.
  • Remove users – if someone’s changed role or left your company, you can remove their access.
  • And – update the signatories on your business mandate,  mailing address and signing instructions.
