Setting up your Cardnet Terminal is easy and means you’re ready to serve your customers from anywhere.
Card and payment data is automatically secured and protected.
You can view historic and real-time transactions, as well as see daily summaries and view custom reports via the app.
We’ll also provide the required PCI DSS information when you apply, saving you time and keeping you compliant.
The main difference is to do with your contract. Our Cardnet Terminal could be a great option for small business card payments as it has no minimum contract or monthly fee.
Our other mobile card readers and our portable and countertop machines all come with a range of contract options, where you pay a monthly rental charge.
Our Cardnet Terminal provides businesses with a standalone solution for taking card payments, meaning there's no need to connect to another system or device to process payments. It can also process over-the-phone card payments and can print as well as provide digital receipts. Our mPOS solution works slightly differently, with the card reader needing to connect via Bluetooth to our Lloyds Bank Cardnet payments app running on a separate smart device. The mPOS solution only takes face-to-face card payments and provides only digital receipts.
Choosing between them will depend on how you want to take card payments. If you’re a busy take-away business for example, needing to take over-the-phone payments and preferring to use a single device, the Cardnet Terminal may better meet your needs. However, if you always take in-person payments and are comfortable with running an app on a separate smart device, the mobile card reader may provide just what you need. The Cardnet Terminal may also be more suitable for businesses with multiple people needing to use the device, as it doesn’t require pairing to a smart device.
The terminal battery should last up to 10 hours before requiring a charge. It is possible to process transactions when the card reader is on charge.
A gratuity or tips functionality can be applied to your terminal. Should you wish to have this enabled, please email CardnetTerminal@lloydsbank.co.uk . Please note the 1.75% processing fee also applies to gratuities.
Your terminal is chargeable via a micro USB cable (one is included in your card reader box).
Your funds should arrive in your business bank account within three to five working days of the transaction.
Could be ideal if you need to sell away from your premises.
A great option for taking payment in and around your premises.
The preferred option if you always serve your customers at the till.
