We recently visited Mike, founder of Jamaican patty maker Flake Bake, who switched his business banking to us. He brought us on a journey of how he and his team get ready for Notting Hill Carnival. This year they will be selling 150,000 handmade patties over the weekend!

Mike is one of many founders that have received support from our Black Entrepreneurs programme.

Meet Flake Bake

Flake Bake is a Jamaican patty manufacturer and distributor based in South-East London. Co-founders, Paul and Mike Williams have been crafting authentic, handmade patties in their Peckham factory since 2012.

Since they started, they have gone from producing delicious meat, fish and vegetarian patties in the local community, to becoming South London’s largest supplier of handmade Jamaican patties. This is thanks to the support we have provided with the Black Entrepreneurs programme, but also, their recent success winning Aldi’s next big thing competition. Their patties are now available for everyone to enjoy across the country.

With 2024 being such a successful year, Mike and Paul now want to continue their upward trajectory and expand and invest in multiple Caribbean brands while always remembering their roots by supporting entrepreneurs and serving the local community.
