Jeavon Lolay, Head of Market Insights
Jeavon leads the Market Insight team, primarily focusing on the UK economy and global developments that impact major financial markets. His team communicates the views of Lloyds Bank externally, both through regular written commentary and formal presentations. Jeavon regularly presents at events across the UK and internationally.
Sam Hill, Head of Market Insights
Sam is Head of Market Insights and specialises in providing analysis, insights and views on key topical economic themes and their implications for interest rate markets. Sam has particular expertise on UK monetary and fiscal policy issues and works closely with colleagues on the Trading Floor using his insights to broaden and deepen client engagement. Sam’s experience comes from a range of roles over the last twenty years including academia, portfolio management and various economist and market strategist appointments.
Gajan Mahadevan, Senior Macro Strategist
Combining his expertise in macro and behavioural economics with over a decade of experience in trading, quant, strategy and research roles in the City, Gaj helps corporate clients better understand the prevailing economic and financial market environment and navigate the challenges they may face. He co-authors the UK Sector Tracker and is regularly a keynote speaker at events and conferences. He has a BA in Economics from the University of Durham, an EMSc in Behavioural Science from the London School of Economics and is a CFA charter holder.
Hann-Ju Ho, Senior Economist
Hann has two decades of experience in economics, including over 15 years at Lloyds Bank. He is responsible for the Business Barometer which is a proprietary survey of 1,200 companies and provides timely insights on emerging trends. A key contributor to the team’s core output, including daily and weekly reports, Hann provides clear analysis of key UK/global economic and market trends to clients.
Nicholas Kennedy, FX Strategist
Nick joined Lloyds Bank in 2022 as FX Strategist for the Market Insights team. Prior to that he was Chief Economist for the consultancy Independent Strategy Ltd and has more than two decades of experience covering currencies and global macro across research, trading and sales. Nick’s focus is balancing fundamental top-down macro analysis with technicals, producing reports designed to identify risks and turning points in both currency market and economic trends.
Nikesh Sawjani, Senior UK Economist
Nikesh is a leading expert on the UK economy and has frequently been recognised by Bloomberg as the best forecaster in his field. His deep knowledge and experience spans several decades and major events, including the Financial Crisis, Brexit and the Pandemic.
Orlando Green, Interest Rate Strategist
Orlando joined Lloyds Bank in September 2023 with a focus on UK, Eurozone and US rates markets and macroeconomics.
Rhys Herbert, Senior Economist
Rhys is a Senior Economist in the Research Department of Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. He is responsible for analysing and forecasting trends in major economies. Rhys joined Lloyds Bank in January 2011. Prior to this, he worked at the economic consultancy Oxford Economics where he headed up its industry forecasting service. He has also worked at the Office for National Statistics, Prudential Assurance Corporation, Credit Lyonnais Bank and the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. Rhys has a MSc in Economics from the University of London.
